wordpress wont download

I bought a domain through hostgator.com and and wordpress wont download. It says installation domain is not empty. Is it because this version is not compatable with chromebook? I dont know much about computers but it seems a lot of things wont work with my chromebook laptop. What can i do?

There are no sites under your account so I’m afraid that, your site is not hosted with WordPress.com. It is a site using the open-source WordPress software (from WordPress.org) but hosted with another company.
Because WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two entirely separate entities, we cannot access files or data for sites that are hosted elsewhere, so WordPress.com staff can only assist with sites that are hosted on our servers.
