WordPress won't let me change URL of blog, just says "LEAVE BLOG"

    WordPress doesn’t have option to let me change blog url. I clicked on My Blogs at the left, and then under my existing url, it says “LEAVE BLOG” instead of “CHANGE NAME”.

    I did change this blog url once before, and I would like to do it again. Is there a reason the option is not available?

    I don’t want to Leave Blog because I did click on that to see where it would take me and it was an option to leave permanently as a user which of course isn’t what I want to do.

    HELP!

    Are you the Owner or Admin of the blog for which you are hoping to change the address? You can only change address for the blogs you own or administrate.

    Yes, I am. Is changing the url something that WordPress is no longer allowing?

    Just don’t know why it says LEAVE BLOG instead.

    I am sure changing the url is allowed as I can see in my own Dashboard.

    I am unsure why it is not letting you change. I can’t find any information which says you can’t change url more than once.

    I found that we can change the blog url multiple times. So there is something else at play here.

    Hi there,

    You see the “Leave Blog” link because your account wisetobehappy isn’t the owner of the site. Site administrators that don’t own a site can do almost anything, but they can’t change the address of the site. Only the owner can do that.

    You’ll need to log in as the site owner (or ask the site owner to log in, if that’s a different person) to change the site’s address. If you can’t remember who that is, you can find a list of the other users on the site under Users > All Users in the site’s dashboard.

    Hi Rachelmcr and Chaitanyamsv,

    Thank you both! I went to users and found out that there are two users (due to me creating a new password, and for some reason I ended up adding another user as admin without knowing I did so!)

    So i logged out and logged back in using my old user name and old password, and now I do see the function to change the blog address!

    This tells me that the creator of the blog is the one that has the ability to change the address, not subsequent administrators, am I correct?

    That’s correct. Only the blog creator (aka blog owner), not Administrator can change the url.
