WordPress won't SAVE my post OR RESTORE earlier revisions
-
We are really beside ourselves. Not only WordPress failing to save the latest version of what we write, despite our now frantically utilizing the ‘Save Draft’ button, thus losing us hours of input–and inspiration–but when we try to go back and replace what is a much older version that somehow got saved on top with an earlier version, the “Restore This Revision” button is entirely grayed out and can’t be used at all. Thus we can’t even salvage any earlier corrections. It is so bad right now that I have to work entirely in Word, and then hope when I transfer the finished piece into WordPress that WordPress doesn’t ruin the work I have done.
Is there some bug in your system that you know about and are working on? If not, could you help me with what has really become a blogging disaster? What sort of trouble-shooting can I do to actually write and save posts in WordPress?

Hi there, I’m sorry to hear you’re having trouble with this. I’d be happy to help troubleshoot and figure out what is going on here.
Can you send me a link to one of the posts where this problem has popped up? It would help if I could see an example of where this happened on your blog.
Also, can you please let me know the exact steps you take when you create a new blog post? Please include:
- What web browser you are using (and whether this happens in other browsers or on multiple computers)
- What page in your dashboard you start on
- Which links and buttons you click on to create and save the new post
- Any other pages you have open in your browser while you work on the new post
This information will help me understand what’s happening to your drafts. Thanks!
