WordPress won’t send code to setup my 2-Factor Authentication or update email!

  Need help ASAP! Been trying for 2 weeks to update email address in my WordPress account of many years. Never get confirmation email it says was sent. It’s not in spam or anywhere. “Resent” dozens of times to no avail. About to get locked out so this is urgent yet no one to contact about error/why they’re not sending email.

  Searching for WordPress live chat leads nowhere and it seems, like Meta, they’ve made it impossible for us to get any support when there are errors on WordPress’ side and we cannot get our accounts updated?

  WordPress is requiring me to create 2-Factor authentication yet no ability to update my email address to actually set it up. No code ever comes weeks later & about to be locked out of account.

  Can you share a screenshot? Is this a WordPress.org account?

  I don’t think WordPress sends the 2FA email to your email address.

  We use Google Authenticator/authy app to receive the 2-factor authentication code, and since I can only set it up with these apps.

  THANKS for your reply & help, ngfangkiang! I do have a Google Authenticator app. How would I set up WordPress to send the code there???
  
  Here are screen shots:
  
  1) Every time I click “resend code” to email, no code ever comes.
  
  2) Two weeks ago I requested to update my email address — it has said ever since that the pending change has been sent to that email address. I’ve also clicked resend on that numerous times but there is no email. I canceled it and did it over again and the same.
  
  I have thoroughly checked spam folders for both email addresses as I already do most days. There is nothing whatsoever.
  
  TRULY appreciate your help to fix this before I lose my access to my 17 year site and 5000+ articles of content I’ve written. Thank you, ngfangkiang!

  I see! It looks like you are using the self-hosted version of WordPress. This is a support forum for WordPress.com. For the self-hosted version of WordPress, we use this forum. You should ask your question there next time.

  Regarding your question, I think I can provide some guidance on the issue you are having. The reason you are not receiving emails is most likely because your web hosting does not turn on/block the SMTP port.

  To fix this, I suggest you set up the SMTP port using a plugin like WP Mail SMTP. You can connect the SMTP using SendLayer, Google Mail, or AWS SES based on your choice.
