WordPress/WooCommerce transfer from Shopify

Hello! I currently have an online store via Shopify. I am wanting to keep that page up until I create one via WordPress/WooCommerce. What is the best approach to start creating with WordPress so I can have the site created before making the transfer?

I guess, since you’re posting this on WordPress.com forum, you would like to migrate Shopify store to WordPress.com?
If that’s the case, you can start off with the Business Plan on WordPress.com (https://wordpress.com/start/business/) because that Plan enables you to install plugins, and thus, the WooCommerce.
After you subscribe to Business Plan and install/enable WooCommerce, you can follow these steps to migrate from Shopify to WooCommerce site: https://www.liquidweb.com/kb/migrate-shopify-woocommerce/Once everything is ready and you successfully migrate store to WordPress.com, then you can transfer or map your domain to WordPress.com – please see here for more info: https://en.support.wordpress.com/move-domain/incoming-domain-transfer/

Hi! I’m actually looking to start a site on WordPress.org not .com I’m realizing.
But, I’m not wanting to migrate my site, but start a new one from scratch. I’m wondering how I can create the WordPress.org site, and then once it is created, can I just transfer the domain? Or do I need to do that to start?
All of my inventory changes so starting from scratch just seems right to me! I’d rather not deal with the migration.
