WordPress zone file not reflecting new A record

    Let me make this simple.

    Registered free account with paid domain with WordPress.

    Decided to run WordPress on a new hosting account on GoDaddy instead.

    Changed A record and DNS servers to GoDaddy.

    GoDaddy tells me the zone file is not reflecting the new IP I put in the A record.

    Here is some information:

    WordPress URL : maddisonmondays.wordpress.com
    Purchased Domain (with WP) : maddisonmondays.com
    New A record should read : maddisonmondays.com points to 23.229.181.163
    GoDaddy Nameservers: ns07.domaincontrol.com, ns07.domaincontrol.com

    Please help. It has been a week and I am unable to get this to work.

    Hi Derek,

    Your name servers are set to GoDaddy’s name servers which means their servers hold the zone file for your domain. You would need to contact them and have them add the A-Record to their DNS.
    You might be able to do this from their Control Panel somehow as well.
