WordPress.com and dashboard slow to load / load in http
-
Hi.
My website isnt slow to load, people read it all the time and it loads without problem. The problem comes when I log into wordpress to add, edit, check stats or anything like that. I get a white sceen for several minutes and most of the time when it finally loads it loads in something like html and is all messed up. This also makes editing posts and adding new ones hard because I have to refresh and refresh until the wordpress page is properly displayed and not html.
This can take hours, I am not kidding. I was informed it may be my version of IE so I changed to the more recent, and the problem persists.
IE 9.
Please help

Hi Simon,
These are troubleshooting tips you can try.How are you connecting to the internet and to WordPress.com? The way you connect to the internet (mobile, satellite, DSL, dial-up) and to your blog, and how many proxy server jumps etc. it takes to connect can cause problems. There maybe be problems with your ISP and/or with the proxy servers.
As you are using http:// you could try using https://
http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/Which browser and version of it are you using? Have your tried clearing your browser cache and cookies? http://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clear-your-cache-and-cookies
Is your browser version up to date? You can upgrade any browser version here.
http://browsehappy.com/Do you have third party cookies enabled? Do you have another browser you can try?
You can use this link to see if your Flash is up to date. http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ If it’s not up to date then this is where to download and install the latest version of Flash. http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/
Sometimes operating system and/or security system updates can cause problems so check for known issues. When you make adjustments to your browser settings — changing privacy settings, deleting cookies or increasing security, firewalls, etc. — you will need to close your window and restart the browser before those new settings become effective.

I used a copy and paste asking which browser you were using when you have already provided that you are using IE, so I suggest you try another browser like Firefox or Chrome.

I’ve tried the cookies, checking of software etc. I used to work for Microsoft and that was the first thing we told people, call it the only good thing I remembered from them. haha. Flash and browser all up to date, I will try the https thing. Thanks
I didnt know whether people would get what I meant with the problem, so im glad you understood.
Anything else I can try? It would be easier to fix than to move 3 blogs to another host.

I do get what you mean but I have no other suggestions. Over the past few weeks I too have had recurring problems activating links in the Admin section of my blog. I have to click over and over on the icons in the far left column before there is any sign that the software is aware of my browser. I’m using Firefox 7.0.1 and I have been through the whole troubleshooting drill many times. All my stuff is up to date. I deactivated Zemanta and I have deactivated all browser add-ons and that didn’t help either. My Admin section is sluggish and the editor acts up intermittently too. I’m on a DSL and it’s a dedicated line that’s only to this computer. SIGH …

I appreciate your help. It was more than WordPress themselves have managed to do. Cheers x

Did you contact Staff about this? If not, you can. Here’s the link http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/ After you use the searchbox, under the search results, at the bottom of the page there will be a section that says “Have you found the answer to your question?” You can choose either “Yes I found the answer to my question.” or “No I didn’t find the answer to my question and I would like to contact support for help.” The no option will reveal the contact form.
