WordPress.COM and .ORG and Blubrry Powerpress

  I have been experimenting with podcasting using wordpress and I have reached the end of the rope. It seems – on account of the wholesale silece from wordpress and itunes regarding podcast maintenance from wordpress, etc. – that wordpress.COM has limitations on podcasting that wordpress.ORG might not.

  SO, my question is, should I make the switch? The reason I ask is, I was reading about a program called “Blubrry Powerpress” that works with .ORG and I want to know more.

  Ive read up on he difference between .com and .org but I still am just an unclear.

  I have a paid upgrade and my site is http://daltonlifsey.com/

  Is it wise to switch to .org? And if I do, does that mean that I need to pay for a host? Or does my paid upgrade which made my domain a .com cover it?

  Basically I need to manage my podcasts and .com isn’t allowing it and no one can answer how to manage it from wordpress or Itunes. And, is Blubrry worth pursuing?

  It is wise to switch to .org IF you’ve got the tech skills or tech support to maintain a site. You’ll have to pay for a host. None of the upgrades you’ve applied to a blog here will apply to a blog elsewhere. Since we can’t use blubrry here, nobody here can answer questions relating specifically to that, but I can tell you that .org software has fewer restrictions on podcasting, media of various types, etc. However; it has much less google juice.

  Thanks raincoaster. I appreciate it.

  I dont have tech skills and my hands start to sweat when words like “code” and “RSS” are used. So it probably isn’t a good idea.

  All I want to do is remove the limitation of how many podcast episodes I can have showing in the Itunes store. Right now all I can get to show is 6. And no one can tell me how to change that using .com. AND I want to add an image to my itunes store page.

  If I can figure out how to do that, then .org is unecessary. Suggestions?

  No suggestions whatsoever. I’m sadly unfamiliar with podcasting. There are many podcasters on WP.com, tho, and surely if you follow the Podcast tag from the global tag page you can find someone who can help you:
