WordPress.com App for Mac not working

    My WordPress.com App on my Mac suddenly stopped working. I get an error message with this in it;
    Please restart the app and try again.

    Anybody else seen this?
    I emailed WordPress but haven’t got a response yet, even an acknowledgement of my email to them. Now I have to use the web browser, it’s so painful, it can’t keep up with my typing and freezes. I need the app to work. Sigh. Miss the old system but they’re not listening.
    I have closed the app, restarted it, rebooted the mac, ran ccleaner, emptied cached, uninstalled App, redownloaded it and reinstalled it and nothing happens.

    I got a response from WordPress and they are following up with this. Their solution did work and helped me get back online.
    Here was the response.

    Thanks for reporting this. The error message is possibly being trigger by a corrupted settings file.

    Good news is that you should be able to fix it yourself :)

    Here’s what I need to do:

    1. Close the WordPress.com app
    2. On Spotlight (Cmmd + Space), paste the following address: ~/Library/Application Support/WordPress.com
    3. Open this folder and look for ‘settings.json’ file.
    4. Copy that file and attach to this email.
    5. Delete that file
    6. Restart the WordPress.com app

    You need to send the settings.json file to us so we can take a look and identify what is causing the issue, so we can prevent it from happening to you and other users.
