wordpress.com blog > wordpress.org hosted
-
Hi guys, I have a blog that is hosted on wordpress.com, but i’d now like to transfer it to my own hosted account. I have the hosting and the new domain name.
My questions are:
1. Is it possible to transfer the blog entries accross?
2. Will this mean I have to start again with any kind of inbound linking I have attracted? Thanks
Chris

You can export the contents of your blog:

Links you have set up in your blogroll will not automatically transfer, but you can import them from the new wordpress install on your new site.
Any images you have uploaded here at wp.com will not automatically transfer with the blog either, but your posts will still show the images. You can transfer the images one-by-one and update the links in your posts at your new blog, or leave them here and they will remain hotlinked to your new blog.
