WordPress.com blog publishing my content via RSS feed
-
Hi,
The WordPress.com site called [offender URL removed, no need for extra publicity] is publishing every article I write, word for word. They’re taking articles directly from my RSS feed and posting them on their site. I recently put a “summary only” on my RSS feed stating that my readers have to go to my blog to read the full article because of content theft and scraper sites. Now, the offending site publishes that message, too! [offender URL removed]
To date, this site has published 70 of my articles. Can you do anything about this — perhaps by taking down their blog?
For example, here’s one of my articles http://theadventurouswriter.com/blog/what-makes-you-laugh-easy-ways-to-laugh-more/
And this is their rip off: [offender URL removed]
They’ve been stealing my articles — and other bloggers’ posts — since February. Can WordPress.com do anything about this? There’s no contact information on the site, and when I ask them to stop in the comments section, they just ignore me.
This site is just a scraper site, and makes WordPress.com look bad. Can you please, please do something about them?
Sincerely,
Laurie Pawlik-Kienlen -
It looks to me as though neither the offending site nor yours is a WordPress.com site (if you look at the bottom of the page, you see it’s “powered by WordPress” and on hovering, you get “WordPress.Org”; all WordPress.com sites have “WordPress.com” down at the bottom of the page somewhere with a credit to the WP theme, as well).
Your posting the “scraper” message in the summary is a good move. Perhaps someone on the WordPress.org site might have a solution for you. :-) http://wordpress.org/support/

WordPress.com sites or not, there is a procedure to file a DMCA (Digital Millennium Copyright Act) notice:

IF they happen to be running Adsense, you can really hurt them: just click the little “Ads by Google” at the bottom of the ad on their page, and report them. Google will remove them from the Adsense program and THAT will hurt them where they live.
This is independent of the DMCA.
