  I purchased an upgrade for $99 which inlcudes a free domain (purchase of your WordPress.com Bundle).
  Can someone tell me who owns a domain name? wordpress or I? Who is the hosting company>

  You own it – or really rent it actually – the domain name is registered and the registering agent fills out all the forms for the master internet gods so your name works –

  The host is where you web site is hosted – WordPress.COM is a host – the junk rude site linked to your name is a different host –
