This used to work, but trying it out today without knowingly making any changes, it failed to send an email even though it returned the confirmation display stating that it had.
I have tried various other valid receiving emails but none work.

I just sent a test message to the contact form you linked. I saw a confirmation message once it was sent. Please let me know if you receive it or not.

Yes I have received it!
But I have also tried it again in the last 2 hours the email was not sent.
I’m mystified!

Look in your email client spam/junk mail filter and if you use Gmail check your “social” tab too.

Very strange. You might try logging in with a different user account or asking people you know to test it, to make sure it isn’t an issue with your connection. Also please make sure you have third-party cookies enabled for WordPress.com:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/third-party-cookies/Also timethief’s suggestions may be spot on.

1. It’s not in any junk mail folder.
2. Just (10 mins ago) tried to send an email from my Windows 8 phone with my wife karencaine logged in but no email has been received yet.
3. I followed the link you sent and it checked out my browser reporting
“Checking your browser…<tick symbol> Great, third party cookies are properly enabled in your browser!”
Could my email client – Windows Live Mail – be losing it?
Or is it a conspiracy, perhaps? :>)

Just changed the recipient to one of my wife’s email addresses, (email visible only to moderators and staff), and used the form but she didn’t receive the email on her Apple Macbook Air computer.
Someone up there doesn’t like me!

I’m noticing you both may be BT/British Telecom users, and there may be something going on there, or it could be a coincidence.
Is there any way you can test the form from another location not using BT access, so we can see if that’s causing this issue?

Yes we are both going into the same router and into Btinternet.
We have just tried my wife’s Macbook using the form after I had amended the recipient to her University email account. Again, no email was received!I am becoming convoinced that BT are at fault.
I will try my Windows 8 Phone using a 3G wireless modem instead of the BT connection.

It worked using my W8 Phone on 3G!
So, BT are somehow filtering out the email on sending.
They will of course deny everything as everyone knows who has ever dealt with them!
Perhaps tomorrow it will work, if not I’ll contact BT.

That’s good to know. We’ll keep an eye on this and see if we have any other reports. It’s still very possible that it’s not on BT’s end, but the coincidence was too strong to ignore.
