WordPress.com Create Blog Fail?

Hello,
I deleted my WordPress.com blog over two weeks ago, and today I was going to create a new blog; but first I went to change my username to a new username that was still available (I checked & it was available).
It gave me several options about what to do with my old blog/address (which was already deleted over two weeks ago), and I selected to have my new username/address replaced the old one & to discard the old username/blog; but no new blog was created for my new username, and it is now showing that username is taken when it was not before.
I believe it is because I did not choose the create a new blog option, I tried the other option hoping that it would create a new blog & redirect visits to my old/now deleted blog address to my new one, but instead it probably added my newly created username/address to the deleted blog pile with my other deleted blog; but I could be wrong.
I had a feeling something bad might happen, but I hoped that it would give me an error message or something letting me know that my old blog was already deleted or something like that; and that it would just go ahead and create the new blog address for me, oops.
Either way, I probably will need someone from the WordPress.com Team to help me with this one.
My old deleted blog was:
goodjohnjr.wordpress.com
The new blog that I was trying to create was:
gracedbydreams.wordpress.com
