WordPress.com domain still appears

    Hi,
we bought a domain ended by “.es”, to avoid “wordpress.com” to appear in the url. However, the domain with “wordpress.com” is still appearing in Google search, together with the “.es”, when users look for specific keywords. When the user clicks the link, he/she goes directly redirected to the domain “.es” (without wordpress). We would like the users to see the domain ended by “.es” in any search the do.

    Can you please advice?
    Thanks in advance.

  • There’s nothing wrong, but it will take time for the .wordpress.com URL to drop from search results. Keep updating your site regularly so Google will keep indexing it and over time the .es site will replace the .wordpress.com site in the results. The more regularly you add new original content the faster this will happen.

You could try submitting a removal request to Google for the .wordpress.com URL, but it’s no guarantee it will work.
