WordPress.com Editor

Less than 10 minutes ago the WordPress.com edit was working okay. Then, when I pasted hyperlinked text into my blog which is a newsletter, I clicked on the Insert/edit link icon on the toolbar and immediately no matter where I am in the blog, it now jumps to the very top/beginning of the blog I am working on. It has never done this before now.

Please fix this as this adds even more time to what I am trying to do in putting this newsletter together.

Your immediate attention to this request would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you.

    Hi, @erogers77,

Off-Topic: I took a look at your theme, as I wanted to duplicate what you are seeing.
Please note that the theme you are using (Digg 3) has been retired.

I share this with you, as WordPress.com retires themes when they become incompatible with newer features available on WordPress.com. So, this could cause problems down the road, and would be well worth looking for a new theme going forward. This page will lead you to new themes: https://wordpress.com/theme/digg3

On-Topic: I see what you are talking about even on a couple of my test sites with different themes.

I am going to tag staff for clarification on this, with the modlook tag. Be patient. They will respond.

Staff: In the blue (calypso) editor, when adding a link everything on the functionality of adding the link works great. But when finished, we are brought to the top of the post rather than having focus on where the link we just added is. Not a big deal when it is a short post but frustrating on a longer post. :) Thanks!

  • Hi there,

Thanks for the report, I see what you mean. It doesn’t look like we’ve made a recent change in the code, but it’s definitely happening, so I’ll report it to our developers to take a look.
