wordpress.com frontpage templates

  Am new to the WP world – please be patient!
  I would like to create a very simple blog which in essence looks like the frontpage of wordpress.com , ie with a main blog post at the top, summarized, then under it small images and one line of text showing previous posts. When I write a new entry, it will refresh into the latest post box, pushing the current one to previous posts.

  All templates I have seen are the type where a few posts are on the same page and you must scroll down to read older ones. I want my front page to be static, with nothing below the fold.

  As I’m new to WP I don’t want to try and create such a template myself, so if anyone can point me in the right direction for free templates, or at least what this style of blog is called so I can search myself, I would be very grateful.

  If you’re hosted here at wordpress.com your theme choices are those in the Presentation tab. The CSS upgrade would let you change the style of a theme but not its underlying functions.

  If you’re self hosted, you need to be at wordpress.org/support for help with this.
