wordpress.com has banner, otherwise blank
-
When I navigate to http://wordpress.com I get a page that has the blue banner at the top, but is otherwise blank — just white.
Clicking on the links in the bar takes me to the following pages, which also have no visible content:
http://wordpress.com/#!/read/following/
http://wordpress.com/#!/my-stats/
http://wordpress.com/#!/my-blogs/
http://wordpress.com/#!/read/fresh/
http://wordpress.com/#!/new-post/
http://wordpress.com/#!/notifications/latest/If I “view source”, there are many pages of content. None of it is visible, however.
I am using Google Chrome in Linux Mint Mate Maya.

If you are not running one of the browsers and versions listed at http://browsehappy.com/ please try upgrading or switching first.
Note: If you are using an IE9 browser in compatibility mode that makes it render as IE7 and IE7 is not supported. To disable see > http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1196-internet-explorer-compatibility-view-turn-off.html
If you are running one of the browsers and versions listed at http://browsehappy.com please do these four things:
1. Try clearing your browser’s cache:
http://www.google.com/support/accounts/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=32050
2. Make sure that you have third-party cookies enabled: http://en.support.wordpress.com/third-party-cookies/
3. Try with all browser extensions or add-ons temporarily disabled.
4. Try enabling HTTPS: http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/
If it’s still happening, let us know exactly which browser (and version of it) you’re using by checking here if necessary http://www.whatbrowser.org/ and also post any error reports you get.

I am running Chrome 26, most recent version.
I cleared the cache, deleted all wordpress.com cookies, and made sure third-party cookies are enabled.
I briefly saw the wordpress.com homepage. As soon as I logged in, however, the content disappeared.

@tarverator
Are you willing to download Firefox 20 and try it? http://browsehappy.comI tagged this thread for a Staff follow-up. Please subscribe to it so you are notified when they respond.

Hm, I’m not having any trouble in Chrome 26 myself.
Please try these four things and let us know how they go:
1. Try clearing your browser’s cache and cookies: http://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/
2. Make sure that you have third-party cookies enabled: http://en.support.wordpress.com/third-party-cookies/
3. Try with all browser extensions or add-ons temporarily disabled.
4. Try enabling HTTPS: http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/

I have Firefox 20, and it works the same way: OK when everything is clear, then the content disappears as soon as I log in.

Actually, from your other threads, it sounds like you don’t have JavaScript enabled.
Would you please check that?
-
Yes, I have JavaScript enabled. I would think that if JavaScript were turned off, nothing would happen upon attempted drag-and-drop. What happens is that sometimes the swipe action just selects text. Other times the object is indeed dragged, but never drops. So I think some kind of Java code is executing.
When I open the console, I see this but nothing else comes up when I attempt drag-and-drop:

…sorry, that’t the console from attempting to drag widgets to the sidebar. This is the console for the home page:

Hm, nothing in there would prevent you from seeing the home page.
Does it claim to be enabled when you visit http://www.enable-javascript.com/ ?
-
http://www.enable-javascript.com/ sez: ” JavaScript is enabled in your web browser. If you disable JavaScript, this text will change.”
Big mystery! Three different problems in four different kinds of browsers (Chrome, IE, Firefox, Opera), on Windows & Linux all screwing up. What’s going on? Weird… it must be some setting that my account has in it, because this is just too widespread.

I think these are all connected, and at this point I’d just be repeating what Ash said at https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/dragging-widgets-to-sidebar-fails so let’s continue over there. :)
