WordPress.com header on external WordPress blog?

I really like the way recent posts and stuff are displayed in the dashboard, is there any way to get this kind of behaviour, and also be listed in those lists here at wordpress.com, with an externally hosted WordPress?

Oh, I didn’t think my avatar had uploaded ;) I’ll fix it!

You can pick a template similar to those available here; most of them started as open source WP.org projects that were adapted for WP.com.

As for the lists and tag pages, nope. Not ever. Once you leave, you leave behind the benefits of being part of the WP.com community, including the tag pages, Top Posts, Top Blogs, etc. Those are benefits available only to people who keep their main blog here.

You can, of course, use Technorati tags and such, but you’ll have to install them yourself and they don’t give you the same googlejuice as the tags here.

Okay, I misunderstood you when you said WordPress.com header. No, there’s no network for independently hosted blogs like there is for WP.com; that’s why independents rely so heavily on things like Technorati and MyBlogLog.

    Thanks for your help. :)

I had a WordPress hosted on my own server for a while, but even though it’s Bluehost (one of those linked from the WordPress.org hosting page), the default WordPress with default settings and just Askimet plugin, I hit the Bluehost “CPU limit” with it.

So, I’ve decided to bring my blog here… I think I’ll probably use WordPress for the rest of the site though (hosted on Bluehost, if it’ll work!)

    Again, thanks for your help.
