WordPress.com is malfunctioning

  I am currently in dire need of updating my website, but it has been made impossible by wordpress.com being incapacitated. When I go to my pages it will not load anything no matter how long I wait, and when my friend tried to do it on his computer it wouldn’t work for him either. All I get is the cute ‘Loading a page of pages…’ bar, a lie in itself since nothing ever loads. Also, when trying to edit another aspect of my site (I don’t remember what it was specifically) I was prompted to reenter my login information. When I did, it told me I had entered an invalid username/password, but I did not. I used the exact same information as I used to login 2 minutes prior. Bad day for wordpress…

  1) Your site loads normal for me.
  2) Your site is hosted on siteground.com not on wordpress.com

  Hi staartmees.

  1) The site itself loads fine, yes. That’s not what I’m talking about, though. I’m saying that when I log into my account on wordpress.com (NOT my website) and I click on the “Pages” tab on the toolbar at the left side of the screen to edit the pages of my website, it will not load my pages, no matter how long I wait. I’ve given it 15 minutes and it still loaded nothing.
  2) My site is hosted by siteground.com, a backend host that works through hosting sites like wordpress, hence my having a wordpress.com account.

  Thank you for the condescension, though. I suppose what goes around comes around.

  Hi there, the information that @staartmees gave you is correct.

  If your standalone WP (org) site is connected to WordPressdotcom through jetpack, and the Calypso dashboard isn’t loading, then you might have a browser issue. See here for possible solutions: https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/

  Generally speaking, standalone WP (org) and WordPressdotcom (where we are) are different entities with different documentation and support forums; more information about the differences can be found here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/ Here in these forums we only support sites hosted by WordPressdotcom.

  You can find all the support information for sites using the WP (org) software at https://codex.wordpress.org/Main_Page and at https://wordpress.org/support/ If you don’t have a username on the ORG forums, you can register one on that page.

  You can also log in directly to your WP Admin dashboard on siteground; just add /wp-admin/ to your site address if you wish to edit your site there instead.
