WordPress.com needs support for Google Trends
-
Google Trends generates high quality figures that can be embedded into websites using a <script> tag. Unfortunately, this tag is not supported on blogs hosted by WordPress.com. Neither does WordPress.com provide an alternative way to embed those figures other than adding them as static images.
I hope this support is being added soon.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

JavaScript is not allowed on WordPress.com Premium plan and below, for security concerns. You can read about it here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/code/#javascript
However, if you get the WordPress.com Business plan, you will be able to use JavaScript.
I hope this helps clarify things. Feel free to get back if you have questions and I will be happy to help!

I know that JavaScript is not supported.
The Premium plan is currently no option for me.
I am requesting support for Google Trends in the same way Google Maps is supported, too.
Does that analogy make sense?

Meaning that the script is changed to an embed shortcode on saving?
I’ll second that request.

Yes, this is an excellent idea!

Okay, I think that’s a really cool idea too! Thanks for sharing here, orschiro. Hope this becomes a reality some day!

There is a roundabout way of doing this by first sharing a Google Trend to one of the social media options on the Trends page (Google+, Facebook, or Twitter) and then embedding the share in your post following one of these guides:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/google-plus-embeds/
https://en.support.wordpress.com/facebook-integration/facebook-embeds/
https://en.support.wordpress.com/twitter/twitter-embeds/I realize it is not the same thing and I would also like to see the actual Trend available as a direct embed here on WordPressdotcom.
Happy New Year all.
