WordPress.com no longer recognizes my User Name, my email address, nor my Password

A friend has started a new blog and encouraged me to check it out. I cannot sign on to WordPress.com for some reason.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Every WordPress.COM blog has a sole owner. It is the person with the WordPress.COM username account who registered the blog under that username account and a single associated email address here https://wordpress.com/me/account, and who is the original Admin of the blogs registered under that username account.
What I post below applies only to sites hosted by wordpress.COM. It does not apply to wordpress.ORG software installs.
You must be logged in under the exact same username that registered the site to be able to access the site. The Admin login link to the dashboard for every blog hosted by wordpress.COM is:
http://NAME_OF_BLOG.wordpress.com/wp-admin/
*Replace NAME_OF_BLOG in that URL with the actual name of your blog.
I recommend bookmarking that link or memorizing it.
If you are not logged in under the correct username account then clear your browser cache https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-your-browser-cache and cookies https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-wordpress-com-cookies and then login correctly under the relevant username account.

I appreciate the time and effort that went into your detailed response…. but it reveals to me that my memory is correct and that my user name is exactly as I've written it down in a notebook with all my passwords, etc.. For some reason, WordPress.com neither recognizes my User Name nor my email address. Oh well.
I just wish there was a way for me to contact WordPress.com's tech support; but I can't seem to get there from here. -

A friend of mine is creating a new WordPress.com blog and he sent me a link to it that required HIS user name and password.
