*.wordpress.com NOT available?

    Since there is a “wonderful” fellow out there busing himself to publish libel and slander against me, big time, (using/abusing wordpress.com for that – never did receive a reaction to my complaint) I meant to register a blog under my real name to set the record straight…..
    ….BUT: Errormessage: this name can not be registered…. (?)! WTF?
    It clearly does not yet exist, there is nothing “wrong” with my name, so ….: Why on earth would it not be possible to register it and at least stand a chance that it will pop up on top when people search my name!

    Hi there,

    It’s not possible for me to check on this without knowing the actual address you’re trying to register.

    That said, there are a few reasons a particular address can be unavailable. If someone else has already registered that address it can’t be used, and if someone had registered and deleted it, it might not be possible to recycle it.

    Recycling Blog Addresses (URLs)

    If someone registered a username that matches the address it also means that address is reserved for them, and no one else will be able to register it in that case, regardless of whether the other person is using the address or not.
