wordpress.com payment ist due for renewal

    Hi there,

    since my credit card will expire soon my payment for this wordpress site could not be renewed. I didnt find out until I saw that my site tripolarmusic.net was offline.
    Now – I changed my credit card (my friend’s credit card is now ) and added a new credit card which is from my business partner. The site is still offline and I couldnt find a way to make things work. Please help me and renew my payment so I can be online again!

    Hi there, according to the whois search I just did, it looks like your above domain is currently in the redemption period. Here’s what happens when your domain lapses. https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/domain-expiration/

    This thread is tagged for Staff. If Staff are able to recover the domain for you, they will let you know, but there will be an additional $80 fee imposed by the registrar.

    Hi there,

    It looks like your domain expired on 28 July already, and was removed from our system on 8 September. As @justjennifer pointed out, the domain is now in redemption with our registrar, which means they are preparing to delete it completely at which point anyone else will be able to register it.

    You can try waiting until it is released, but you run the risk of losing it as someone else could register the domain before you are able to.

    The other option is that we can try to recover it from the registrar, but they charge an $80 fee in addition to the renewal fee to do this. If you agree to pay that fee, let me know and I can get the process started for you. If the recovery fails, the fee is refunded in full.

    Well, as for now I would rather wait everything is “expired”. 80 bugs is a little too much right now.

    I understand :)

    Be aware that it can take up to 2 months for the domain to be released, and someone else might buy it the moment it becomes available in which case you’ll lose it.

    That domain expired two weeks ago. You should still be able to renew it from Purchases, but you need to be logged in as the account that owns it – lynnegilfillan
