WordPress.com: Please stop spamming messages to use the new system.

There’s now an easier way to create on WordPress.com! Switch to the improved posting experience.
Please stop spamming this message. The new system is utterly inferior in every manner and I have no intention of using it.
Thanks.
Ps. If you want details as to why it’s inferior, I am available for consultation at $40/hour.

I’m with you on that and here’s some bad news I read just today that peeved me right off https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/new-improved-edit-interface-is-still-deleting-numeric-tags?replies=6#post-2309213

@lizthefair
I played down my feelings. I am actually extremely annoyed by this sneaky remove the classic editor link prior to the weekend and let the Volunteers deal with the flack number. Thanks for conveying my feelings to these mysterious “developers” that we users never have an opportunity to communicate directly with, and by the way, why is that? -

If developers truly act to address WordPress.com user needs to improve our blogging experience then how can they do that without directly communicating with WordPress.com users prior to making changes? If we WordPress.com users provide feedback that is filtered by support staff, who act as go-betweens between WordPress.com users and developers, and we do not see them respond positively to what we users declare to be our needs then how can we maintain any confidence in this operation, and not become incensed by the ridiculous claim that they are improving our blogging experience when they are accomplishing the opposite? As a desk top user my blogging experience that used to be easy and enjoyable has turned into an exhausting click, scroll, click, click, click steeplechase that’s such a piss off that I set up a site elsewhere. And, what is this all aimed to do? It’s aimed to serve the needs of mobile users. And, what do they use a blog for, despite the fact they may not even own toothbrushes? Why posting selfies, reblogs and other “microblog” entries d0on’t you know. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr -
The message takes up valuable space on the editor and increases the amount of scrolling we need to do just to make a new post or edit an older one.
It’s been there too long and now with the elimination of the link to easily return to the classic editor it doesn’t make any sense to keep the annoying message.
The “new BBB too-blue-to-use” editor is not an “improved posting experience” as one can see by all the comments made in the many Forum threads including the 945 posts in the main thread last year, https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/beep-beep-boop-screen-is-a-joke-is-this-a-glitch?replies=945.

@TT – there are no developers on the Blue Death Editor – only 4th rate coders. The arrogance and contempt to the users on the Blue Death Editor is beyond belief and totally insulting
Your feelings about the alert and the new editor have been noted.
But nothing ever changes – the Blue Death Editor is being jammed down the keyboard of users – it is slow and a piece of junk – noting does no good without changes – I have a pile of suggestions on my note pad to improve things here and make money for WordPress.COM with upgrades that bloggers would want to use – but the attitude of WP is so bad that the suggestions will just sit on the paper since nobody here seems to listen or really care

I do not think they are arrogant. I think they are working under orders from TPTB and I think TPTB are issuing orders to them based on the agendas of their investors.

Very good point. I think the same.

This question comes up a lot in threads like this so I want to take a moment to address it. One of the most valuable services Happiness Engineers provide is to serve as a bridge between users and developers. This layer of filtration and distance is in the best interest of users and developers and actually leads to faster fixes and updates.
We represent you, our users, to the development teams by sifting through your feedback to find the most pressing issues to get fixed right away. We find the actionable pieces of feedback and present it in a way that is much more likely to be heard. We look for patterns in the agregate of what you tell us and make recommendations for where it makes sense to push forward and when to pull back.
We know change is hard, and since the new products are in active development the early versions don’t always work as reliably as WP admin. It’s understandable that you want and need to vent about that. You can continue to do that here knowing your unhappiness will be passed onto developers in a calm, kind and most importantly, actionable way.

@lizthefair
We are online friends so I will, shoot from the lip and speak to you as I would over coffee in my own home.I do not approve of such a filtered communication flow between end users and “developers”.
I hold no hard feelings against you or anyone who spouts a party or corporate line back to me and thinks they have a role to play re: filtering my responses.
I will not continue venting because it’s clear that doing so is a waste of my time and an insult to my intelligence.

The only way I can make sense out of this mess is to guess that the classic editor — which seems to be universally preferred by veteran bloggers — obligates WordPress to pay royalties to someone, and to avoid that they’ve developed Beep Beep Boop. This is understandable. Unfortunately, BBB is a catastrophe, but it’s being forced upon us anyway.
-
@sensuouscurmudgeon
I believe the classic editor is the TinyMce editor http://www.tinymce.com/ and it’s open source released under LGPL. -
Well, timethief, if WordPress can use the classic editor without paying for it, then none of this BBB stuff makes any sense.

Personally, I love the old system too. Why did there have to be any change? I do not like the new one (the blue one). I do not use it. I guess those Wordress employees need something to do in order to be paid…
Instead:
I would like to see WordPress stop accepting the spam..Like”Buttons for websites” What is that? Work on that. And when you add a contact form, that is all you get, a lot of spam. Get rid of that problem….It will keep your employees very busy for a long time and leave the bloggers alone so we can keep blogging happily…When you make your bloggers happy, you get more positive people reading the blogs…and not the negative spammers -
For the record this an old thread and I no longer notice it at all. I use only the classic editor and I ignore the invitation to use the new editor.
@firsthealer
To use the classic editor to create posts like I do, go to Dashboard > Posts > Add New
Here is the model so you can see the format
http://INSERT_NAME_OF_YOUR_BLOG_HERE/wp-admin/post-new.phpHere is the link to the page on your blog
http://www.firsthealer.com/wp-admin/post-new.phpNote that you can bookmark that link.
To use the classic editor when you edit posts like I do, use the Posts -> All Posts menu, hover over the post title and click the Edit link.
http://INSERT_NAME_OF_YOUR_BLOG_HERE/wp-admin/edit.php
Here is the link to the page on your blog
http://www.firsthealer.com/wp-admin/edit.phpNote that you can bookmark that link too.
Here’s the list of workarounds all in one place:
http://git.io/wpcom-restore-classic-edAnd when you add a contact form, that is all you get, a lot of spam.
That’s a separate and different issue so please use this link to create your own thread on it https://en.forums.wordpress.com/?new=1

I don’t understand why WordPress is trying to be Tumblr. The new editor being terrible is a “pressing issue.” I’m trying to make me peace with the fact that WordPress doesn’t care about its users, but its difficult. I know they’re a company, but I know of other companies that care about the people that use their product. :( Oh well.
-
Well there is a poll/petition which was set up a little over a week ago. And so far there have been 3033 cyber signatures … an overwhelming 2827 don’t want the new edition at all, 191 want to be able to choose between the two. And only 15 approve of it or don’t care. Considering this is simply an online floating poll without the benefit of “spam” notices, its a very telling number.
Now if WordPress would post a link to this poll/petition at the top of the page in the same position as their “spam” message … then they’d get a much clearer picture of what users really want.
The Classic stats page also has this spam message … “Have you tried the new upgraded version” Gag . And if you DO try it you’re stuck on the new stats page until you manage to locate the link back printed at the very bottom of all the scrolling.
These tricks are painful.

Yikes … I forgot to give the link to that petition. Here it is …
