WordPress.com premium subscription lengths?

  Our wordpress.com premium subscription is about to expire on April 13th. We are currently in the process of developing a new website on wordpress.org which does not have a subscription fee. It will be ready to go live in the next week.

  Therefore, we do not want to have to pay $99 to renew our wordpress.com premium subscription when we will not be using it in a weeks time.

  Is there a wordpress.com shorter subscription than a year (like just a month)?
  What will happen if we let the wordpress.com premium subscription run out? Will it switch to a beginner site automatically or just go offline? The domain and theme are still valid.

  Any advice soon will be greatly appreciated.

  There is no shorter subscription timeframe and I do assume you will want to keep the domain URL and use it on your new site. I’ll tag this thread for a Staff follow-up. Please subscribe to the thread so you are notified when they respond and please be patient while waiting.
