WordPress.com problems with image padding

  • Unknown's avatar

I am evaluating WordPress using the basic free platform and am experiencing some inconsistency with images.

I want to have padding around my images so that the text wrapped around doesn’t crowd my photos. I find that sometimes my images do have padding and sometimes to not, even on the same page, and am having to incorporate whitespace into the edge(s) of the actual image as a temporary measure.

What is the standard that wordpress defaults, I’m assuming that I can’t control this unless I upgrade to take control of the CSS etc.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,

I’m sorry to hear you’re having trouble! Your question is a good one and I’ve added a tag here for a Happiness Engineer to take a closer look.

In the meantime, it does seem like clicking on your inserted image to select it, then choosing the alignment you want should work. Can you walk me through what exactly happens when you try this?

    Thanks for your patience!

Yeah, I’m not really sure what was going on. In order to answer your response to my question I thought it best to methodically re-build the pages I had problems with and this time round had no issues.

It looks like the pages do default to having padding when aligned for wrapped text.

Am I correct in thinking this?

This depends on the theme that you are using. I’ve messed about a bit with your theme on my blog and it does seem to be the case for this theme!

Let me know if you continue to have trouble with it. I’ll check back on this post!

Following up on the modlook tag but it looks like this is sorted now. Let me know if you continue to have any issues.
