WordPress.com Referrers Going Ballistic

Both my metalogger.wordpress.com and my vridar.wordpress.com blogs are suddenly getting hundreds of “views” from WordPress.com Referrers. But the numbers of referrers here are in the hundreds while my top posts and pages views are all single digits in my metalogger blog. I can believe the single digit figures but not the hundreds for the referrers. In my vridar blog I do get hundreds in the top posts and pages view, but at the same time the total views exceed the figures in the top posts and pages views. All this is suddenly weird.
What is wrong with these “wordpress.com” referrer figures? Where are they coming from in such big numbers all of a sudden and throwing my normal stats all out of whack?
