wordpress.com servers seem to be very slow

The wordpress servers seem to be very slow over the past few months. I am basing this on page load time and upload time for posting. I have noticed this problem from multiple internet log in points from different places around the U.S.A.
I am wondering if anyone else has noticed this problem? -
Yes, the time that is needed to post does take quite a while but since it is only a delay there is nothing much that can be done.

Page load time also depends on what is on the page that is loading. If the page shows lots of posts, if there are things in those posts being pulled in externally from youtube, flickr, etc., all these affect load times. WordPress.com has no control over availability of things linked externally.
For example, the blog linked to your username (http://reallygoodmovies.wordpress.com/) has 20 (!) posts on the front page and nearly every one of those has youtube videos in them. If your front page is slow to load, try cutting down the number of displayed posts to 5 and linking less to outside resources. Just saying.
If you are having trouble with upload times for posting, you can also try posting by email or using an offline editor, which will connect once you’re ready to post.
