What the frak is all this spam from wordpress.com? Do you really need to make 40+ requests for a SINGLE link from another wordpress blog?
How can I make it so that wordpress.com only makes a request when I ask for it, like when doing stats? Or do I have to take down wordpress.com altogether with iptables to get rid of this illegal crap?

(3) You believe you are receiving spam.Is that correct or not?

As is apparent from the snippet provided, a wordpress.COM site is spamming my site with multiple requests. It is a fact, not a belief. It doesn’t matter where my site is, since the source of the problem is a wordpress.COM site. WordPress.COM should not behave like a crappy rogue python bot.

I see you have a wordpress.com blog that’s devoid of content and was just created yesterday May 20, 2011 (1 day). I am not clear why you have you posted to this thread but Staff have been alerted and when they have time they will deal with this issue. -
I think they try to make you shut my blog and stop me from blogging because they don’t like the content (critisizing the extreme right). I do NOT spam. Trackbacks are only sent to blog posts or articles that I am linking to.

And to clarify – if administrators notice that something is spamming out from my blog unintentionally, I will be more than grateful to be notified about it and receive information on how to correct any malfunction if any, immediately.

(I am not accusing the blogger, I am accusing wordpress.com for this bloated approach. Not all of us have googlesque server farms, but have to do some serious housekeeping to keep resources within very small limits.)

Thank you. It is very important to me to get help with any malfunction, so that I can correct it instantly (I am not so technically skilled). I hope it is not the editing function that causes this, since I often edit my blog posts for spelling mistaktes, or other minor corrections that have to be done to make the post more legible to my readers, because I do that a lot. Every time you edit you have to press the update button, otherwise the corrections will not be made. So I hope trackbacks are not sent once more when I do this, because that is not my intention, of course, only to edit the post, and to be able to do that, I have to press the update button.

Trackbacks are sent every time you update. Ideally just one HEAD and then one POST, not 29 HEADS, 1 GET, 1 POST and then repeat and rinse with 1 HEAD, GET and POST each (which will require some 200 MB of Apache instances and some 10% load increase on a small site). That’s bloat and bad programming, it’s like the XML-RPC is doing one round to each blog for ALL links…

zhihuzheye – I guess it is the wp administrator’s panel that does not work properly, because when I check now, I see that only some of the trackbacks are removed to “redan pingat” and remain in the slot for those to be sent although I have already sent them once. Understand me right, when I write a blog post, I link and send trackbacks to all articles and blogs that I have linked to in my blog post, then I press the Publish button, still only half of them, at best are then removed from the slot “Send trackbacks” to “Already pinged” (down under the “Send trackbacks” slot) where all of them really should be placed once I have pressed the Publish button. How to change this malfunction, I do not know. I hope you understand what I mean, I am not very good at explaining technical argument.

zhihuzheye: This is an error, that I ponder over how to get fixed. I hope Staff can assist me on this, to make it work properly. And my guess is, that that would mean, that the trackbacks placed in the “Send trackbacks” slot should be removed down under to the “Already pinged” area, once the Publish button has been pressed by me,which is not done right now. Instead, some of them are still left behind in the “Send trackbacks” slot. Thanks for noticing me on the problem. Hope Staff can help me fix it.

komigenuva, how many times did you update or re-publish your post after it was initially published?
Trackbacks and pingbacks are sent out every time the a post is updated. The request is made, but they are never duplicated on the receiving blog. It’s not ideal, but it’s really the only way to automatically send them out to any newly added links.
