WordPress.com stats gone to zero

  • Unknown's avatar

Several days ago, my WP.com stats graph just went from hundreds per day to zero and stayed there (but I am still getting traffic).

What could I have done to break this? How does WP.com get the stats to begin with, and is there a way to “reassociate” the blog with wordpress.com (without losing the history)?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Well mine is on WordPress.com and mine is the same as texasag90. The stats have fallen off the radar. And came here to ask if we can remove this new feature altogether.

But I noticed this last night for the first time. I got a lot of hits Tuesday but this feature shows like it wasn’t viewed at all. So there is something wrong with it.

This stat states views 48 hours. And shows 196?

Monday I recieved 519 hits and Tuesday 627. This feature was fine prior to Monday or lets put it this way this is when I noticed it looked like it had stopped functioning.

Is there a way to remove it?

  • texasag90, what’s the URL of your WordPress.com blog?

longshotsblues, I recalculated your stats and the number seem correct. Does it look good for you now?

It looks like it’s back to normal.

    Thanks macmanx

Well this thing is dead again.

    Not functioning again.

In reality I want this stat counter off my blog. It’s not an asset to our blogs when it shows zero data, it makes our blogs seem as if nobody is viewing them at all when the actual stats on the dashboard and my IP tracer shows the true views which are in the 500 range for a day.

If it’s going to keep stop working Please do away with it.

  • I actually don’t see the counter you’re referring to on your blog.

    Did you remove it?

  • Unknown's avatar

It’s still there between NEW and Shortlink but I can only see it when I’m signed in.

And I don’t know how to remove it. Can it be removed? But if nobody else can see it but me guess it doesn’t really matter. But it is still there and it has flat-lined with one exception, one peak.

  • You’re definitely the only one who can see it, but it cannot be removed.

Can you please try clearing your browser’s cookies and cache?

I’ve already did that from last night to now. Stat Counter is the same.

    BROKEN

Actually you asked; Did you remove it?

then answered; You’re definitely the only one who can see it, but it cannot be removed.

    LOL

Anyway if it stays non working no big deal if no one can see it anyway. I always went to the dashboard to see the stats anyway. That’s why I never understood them placing this thing on the top.

I would still like the tags to go to global board but doubt that will happen as well. To me the tags led me to other peoples blogs writing on the same subject matter, which is where it should go. But it is what it is.

  • To be fair, I wasn’t entirely sure what you were referring to originally. You said stats counter (some can be added via widgets), but you were referring to your stats graph, or more specifically, your sparkline.

We’re working on the global tag pages, so the tag links will be internal to your blog for now.

  • Unknown's avatar

    Yep, my sparkline became sparkless.

AND ONE BIG THANK YOU FOR WORKING ON THE GLOBAL TAGS.

You just made my night, or rather morning? LOL
