wordpress.com theme not applied

    Hi,

    We have purchase a premium theme Manisha for a non profit and the theme is activated but it is not applied to the site when viewing it as an address. Does the wordpress.com need to be hosted in order for the theme to be applied? Currently it is still viewing as the general theme and does not show the features of the premium theme purchase. Can you give me instruction how this theme is actually applied and viewed on the site?

    There is no theme named “Manisha” on the theme store, is it possible that you may have misspelled “Maisha”? This one: https://wordpress.com/theme/maisha

    Hi there,

    The site you indicated, https://designerillustrations.wordpress.com/, does not have any upgrades, and the username praise0711 also doesn’t own any premium themes.

    The username, peacefurpaws, bought the theme, for the site, https://peacefurpawssite.wordpress.com/, and that site is showing the Maisha theme if I view it.

    1) Is there anyway that the slider banner for the Maisha theme for the front page Peace Fur Paws site. I know this is done through Javascript, but is there a plugin for this?

    2) Can not find the images of the illustrated Logos on the front page. This is normally found in the media and I am not finding it.
    It was mentioned these images maybe just accessed through the child theme. Therefore do we need to download the files in order to see the LOGO IMAGES. As you can see we are not hosting our own site. And I know usually the child theme is created through a download So can you direct me to where to find the black and white LOGOs on the front page template….if at all possible?

    3) What plugin can we use to be able to modify the CSS and Javascript and or the PHP?

    4) I am not referring to my site designer illustrations but only the Peace Fur Paws site.

    Sorry, I don’t understand. Is there anyway that the slider banner what? Maisha does not have support for a slider. JavaScript cannot be added to any site on WordPress.com. To add a plugin you’ll need the Business Plan, but I don’t know of any specific plugin that can be used to add a slider to a theme that doesn’t support it.

    Do you mean the logos on the theme demo page? Those are only on the demo site to show you how it would look. You need to upload your own logos to the media library in order to have them show on your site.

    3) What plugin can we use to be able to modify the CSS and Javascript and or the PHP?

    To add custom CSS to your theme you need the Premium or Business Plan. To add plugins you need the Business Plan. There are plugins that can be used to add custom code to a site, but I don’t know of any specific one to recommend. I suggest you search the WordPress.org plugin repository for options, and once you have the Business Plan you’ll be able to install it for your site.

    It’s not possible to directly edit the source files of any site on WordPress.com, regardless of plan.

    Have you worked through the setup instructions for Maisha?

    It shows you exactly how to set up the site like the demo, and will give you a better idea what’s possible with this theme and what not.
