WordPress.com version of Cutline lags far behind the new versions of the theme
-
Please update cutline. The wordpress.com version doesn’t even support blogroll. I was a post on the forum where the creator said he had no control at all over the wordpress.com version. So please, take a look at his new work at http://cutline.tubetorial.com/ and update the wordpress.com theme to match it. That would really make a lot of people grateful.
Here I will rank from top to bottom the features i consider the most important to implement:
– Sidebar upgrade to support blogroll and more
– RSS and Mobile RSS at the right of top header
– More templates (current has only default and archive)
– Random Header images (too much to ask for?)
– Subtitle between maintitle and headerAnd maybe other users can fill me in… Really i just need a basic update so this beautiful template becomes just as compatible as the others!

Have you sent it to staff? Volunteers in the forum have zero say on this kind of thing. Besides, there’s already more than one thread on “please update this theme.”

Cutline certainly does have a blogroll. In both the default sidebar and with widgets, which I see you’re using, it’s called Links. When you drag the Links widget to your sidebar and save the changes, the widget title on your blog will say Blogroll.

They’re a bit wary about upgrading existing themes because there are always users who want things to stay the way they are. You or I might think the addition of a tagline is welcome extra functionality, but I can guarantee there’s going to be someone who says ‘ugh! I don’t want extra text in my header! Change it back!’ Plus, the majority would rather they spend their time installing shiny new themes, not spruced-up versions of old ones. So don’t hold your breath.
