WordPress.com vs wordpress with webhost
-
I will start up a new site for an event, where I need the possibility to have adds for the first year – not to earn moeny myself, but to feature the sponsors for the project. Im used to using wordpress.com for my blogs. I will off course buy the domain. I would really appreciate some advice on the following:
1 – to keep adds on my blog, I will have to use wordpress.org and a webhost. Right or wrong? Is there another way using wordpress.com?
2 – When Im used to use wordpress.com, will it take alot of work to get into the tool of wordpress.org?
3 – After this year there will be no need for adds. If I use a webhost and wordpress.org, is it easy to transfer my blog back to wordpress.com after the project have ended? i would like to keep the webpage, but would not like to pay for webhosting just to keep the site online after finishing the project.
Thanks alot!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

1. Yes, you have to go for a blog using WordPress.org at a hosting provider. The only ad possibilities at WordPress.com (and they are quite limited) are explained here:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/advertising/
2. It depends on how comfortable you are in learning new things. You have access to a support forum at http://wordpress.org/support/ if need be.
3. If you want to keep the domain name, you’ll still need to pay for Domain mapping (and of course the domain itself), but yes, you can switch back to WordPress.com. Keep in mind that any extra functionalities (such as plugins) will be lost.
