I set up this blog page through wordpress.com is this the same from wordpress.org? I have been encouraged to set up a blog site through wordpress.org but, I already paid the $99 fee for the year through wordpress.com. Please, let me know if there is a difference. Also, have I already paid for the domain name and is the blog hosted. I am so confused. Thank you.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

WordPress.com is not the same as WordPress.org.

WordPress.org provides free WordPress software so that you can create your website in a “do it yourself” fashion. With WordPress.org, you will need to find your own hosting, register your domain, and etc. If you want total control of your blog, then you want to use the WordPress.org software, get your own hosting, and such.

WordPress.com hosts your blog and the software is integrated into the wordpress.com website. You get a wordpress subdomain (yourblog.wordpress.com) for free. With the $99 package, which is an upgrade, you purchased a custom domain, mapping, and more (detailed below). Because WordPress.com hosts your blog, your blog is subject to its Terms of Service. This is okay for most bloggers.

    janetgarciainspireblog.wordpress.com is your subdomain.

You purchased a custom domain. I don’t know if you used the default recommendation (janetgarciainspireblog.com) or got a different domain name, but if you registered your custom domain, you should see the option to change it to “Primary” under “Domains” in your dashboard so that you don’t have the “wordpress.com” at the end when you see it in the address bar.
