I followed the instructions for starting a blog that were detailed on ‘The Minimalists’ website. They included picking a domain name, signing up with Blue Host, and then purchasing the Genesis Framework along with the child theme of my choice. However, I am seeing now that I cannot use those child themes if I don’t have a self-hosted, .org website. Am I missing something here? Does this mean if I wanted to use the child themes that work with the Genesis Framework, I shouldn’t have signed up for a Bluehost plan? I would love direction about this. I’m hoping that I just don’t understand how it works yet!

Actually, I just realized this is my old blog address, before I purchased anything. It is from a couple years ago. The blog I need help with is cyndierandall.com. I just got that domain name a few days ago and signed up with Bluehost.

You are posting to the wrong support forum.
WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums. As you are referring to a site that is not hosted here, if you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG account, then click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right-hand corner of the page that opens, https://wordpress.org/support/register.php so you can post to the support forums there.
