WordPress.com vs WordPress.org Plug-ins

I’m really confused, so bare with me on my question. Currently, I use WordPress.com. I bought my domain, but I can’t use any other plug-ins except the ones that are already on WordPress.com. I want to be able to install other plug-ins on my site. I saw an article saying to use WordPress.org. Do I have to buy hosting from another site other than WordPress.com and then install WordPress.org on it in order to use the plug-ins? I really would appreciate the help because I’m completely lost.

    Hi there,

WordPress.com does not offer the option to install third-party plugins. If you would like more control over plugins and the option to install your own, a WordPress.org setup would be the best solution for you.
