wordpress.com/.org

I used to have a wordpress.org blog. That site is no longer being used and I’ve shut down the hosting, so the blog is completely gone.

Is there a way to use that username and email address on my new WordPress.com blog? When I tried to use the email account to create a new blog, it said the email addy (which is a personal address) was taken?? I don’t see anywhere obvious that I can make this happen.

    Thanks,
    Tikki

Bottom line- wondering if I can use the old .org info on the new .com account, since there seems to be cross-over when it comes to using email addresses, etc, and if so, how to do that when the old .org has no hosting.

    Thnx.

.ORG and .COM user names and emails are completely separate – if you have a .com name that is registered to you, the name can be mapped to a WordPress.com site as an upgrade.

Also note that the Terms of Service and what you can do here is different than your own self hosted site was.
