How difficult is wordpress.org to use. Is it a WYSIWYG like my free blog on wordpress?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Not terribly difficult, though it’s a bit more involved than WP.com.
The basic WP.com interface is actually quite similar to what we had here a few months ago—it should feel familiar to you.
Many providers offer plans with WordPress preinstalled or easily installed by a click or two through an administrative panel (cPanel). Once installed, you can generally install a new theme through WP or by uploading it.
Many of the editing tools will vary based on the theme’s options and interface; some are quite elaborate, and many now offer visual editors that unlock powerful features in an intuitive way.
I had a self-hosted WordPress site for a few years, and I generally found it easy to use, especially after I had it set up.
The drawbacks obviously include the cost of the hosting and theme, if you opt for a professional theme (there are thousands of free themes to choose from), the need for more user interaction with some of the basics (updating WP and themes, though this can be done automatically with some hosts), and the somewhat greater complexity of the software.
The benefits: Control! You get to largely dictate the user experience. There are some fine free and pro themes on WP.com, but many of the WP.org themes are simply fantastic, and you’ll be able to access a variety of fonts, plugins, and services.
