  How is it that I’m unable to log in to WordPress.org? Is it not under the same account or do I have to create a new one?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hey there,

  WordPress.com is a service while WordPress.org is where you can get the self-hosted version of WordPress. You can read more about it here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

  It might be possible you used two different email addresses to register on WordPress.org forums and at WordPress.com Even if they were same, they are in no way related to each other. You should just try resetting your password for WordPress.org forums from here: https://login.wordpress.org/lostpassword/

  Hi there,

  A WordPress.org account has not connection at all to your WordPress.com account.

  You also only need a WordPress.org account if you need to post in their forums or want to contribute to the open source software. You don’t need an account on that site in order to download the software and set up a site with another hosting provider.

  Why are you trying to log in on WordPress.org? What exactly are you trying to do?

  Oh okay, thanks both shuklasuyogya and kokkieh! I was sure that they were related but thanks for the insight….Wondered if I had set up a different email for .org!

  I suggest you try the lost password form @shuklasuyogya linked to with all email addresses you have. That’s the only way I know of to recover access to the WordPress.org account, though. We don’t have any access to that site to help you regain access, as the WordPress.org website does not form part of WordPress.com.
