wordpress.org account and wordpress.com account

I have a self-hosted wordpress account hosted by Bluehost http://writingfortomorrow.com/. It is connected to my WordPress.com account but I don’t understand the relationship. I was trying to download my subscribers as a CSV file, but it keeps directing me back to my wordpress account which has a different set of subscribers. I don’t use the blog that ends in ‘.wordpress.com’ at all. I was going to delete the entire account but I didn’t want to risk affecting my main blog. I don’t care for the subscribers on my wordpress.com account. I just want to be able to download the unique subscribers from my blog writingfortomorrow. Also I don’t see why I cant add my site to my wordpress account since that’s the account associated with it… Overall just very confused.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi there,

The site, writingfortomorrow.com, is connected to WordPress.com via the Jetpack plugin. However, that site belongs to a different username than the one you’re using to post here. That site belongs to the username, imwritingfortomorrow, so you need to be logged in as that username to access the site from WordPress.com’s end.

If you want that Jetpack site connected to this account instead, you’ll need to log into the site’s WP-Admin dashboard and disconnect Jetpack there, then reconnect it to this account. That should switch it to your account as the owner, but that doesn’t always work in which case you’ll need to contact Jetpack support to switch the WordPress.com account connected with the site for you.

I’m not sure what you mean by downloading your subscribers. Are you trying to move them from one site to another?

You can move subscribers from a WordPress.com site to a Jetpack site, or between two Jetpack sites, provided both sites are in the same account. You can find instructions for that here:

    Moving Your Subscribers

I can also help you with this, but I’ll need to know from which site, and to which site you want them used, and if either site is in a different account, I’ll need you to confirm in this thread as that username as well.
