WordPress.Org Account linked to my WordPress.Com Account
-
Hi.
I created a .com wordpress account hours ago. Prior to my .com account creation, I already have a .org wordpress account. When I registered for my .com account, to my surprise, the .org account is available and can be seen in the dashboard and blog stats options of my .com account.
I would just like to inquire how did this happen and how I can unlink them?
To add, both accounts have the same username.
Thanks.

Mine aren’t linked. Have the same ones with the same email addresses and there’s no connection for mine.
edit: A quick check with one of my own volunteers shows the same. She raises the possibility though that the poster may be using the wp.com stats plugin on an offsite blog and that may be what they’re seeing.

Even if the plugin is Deactivated, the accounts are still linked.
And it compromises the security of any account. I can access my .org dashboard using my .com account. It could happen to anyone, if ever.

Suffice to say that this linking is the case for all of us who have both wordpress.com and hosted blogs using the wordpress stats plugin.
Have you discussed this with staff? I’m asking this because volunteers on the forum do not have backend access to blogs. We can spend days talking your ears off but that won’t deal with your issue. Please use this link and communicate directly with staff http://wordpress.com/contact-support/ -

Contacted support. It’s some sort of a glitch and the emails says they are working on it. It happens when a .org account and a .com account share a plugin.
*resolved.
