WordPress.org and plugins

I’m not sure where to get started with adding plugins .. I’ve heard I need a wordpress.org or something..

Can i host my site somewhere else, but then edit it on wordpress?

if i can host somewhere else, will i have the plugins feature?

does anyone have any tips for someone starting a site?

what if i want to change my “url” to something different after? will i lose all my edited content? can I transfer it?

    Thanks!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You don’t get started with adding plugins. You cannot add plugins to a WordPress.com blog.

Start here: http://learn.wordpress.com and then you will have a better perspective on things. Also read http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

WordPress.com is a turnkey blogging solution. If that’s not what you want, then you’ll have to buy hosting at $120 a year and up, plus a domain name, install software from WordPress.org and then you can get started with plugins.

If you just want to run a website, WordPress.com is far easier.
