wordpress.org import only imports media files

    I am trying to move my blog from wordpress.com to wordpress.org. The export seemed to work and the export file appears to contain all content from the blog. I have acquired hosting and DNS propagation as completed. I’m logging in to my new install of wordpress, performing the import but only media files are getting imported. I’ve tried 3+ times and no posts, pages, comments, etc. are getting imported. I keep getting messages that the media files have previously been imported. Help Please!

    Hi!

    I suspect that the importer on your self-hosted site might be sticking before the import finishes. Can you try selecting “Posts” when you export the site here?

    Then, try importing that post-only file into your site and let me know how that turns out!
