WordPress.org to WordPress.com

Today I am attempting to migrate my wordpress.
Today I am attempting to migrate my wordpress.org page to wordpress.com but I am being told the domain cannot be mapped because it is in use and I do not want to lose my domain.I just want to host it on wordpress.com and eliminate paying for 3rd party hosting.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

What does that mean? Been Notified? No one else has gotten back to me on this since you asked what the domain was.
-
Your first step is to export and import your content. After you do that successfully you ought to be able to purchase an upgrade for the domain mapping of the existing domain which is currently hosted by Unified Layer on Hostgator servers.
http://support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/map-existing-domain/If you are migrating from a self hosted WordPress.ORG site to WordPress.COM please see: Moving from a Self-Hosted WordPress to WordPress.com
https://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-from-self-hosted-wordpress-to-wordpress-com/ https://en.support.wordpress.com/coming-from-self-hosted/Otherwise see: Importing Content from Another Platform
https://en.support.wordpress.com/import/#importing-content-from-another-platformNormally Staff assistance is not required for this but as this thread is tagged for their support they will follow up and see to it that you succeed.

@timethief the problem is that I get the error message that the domain is in use when I try to map. Everything else has been moved over.
-
@supernovia yes I can log into that account, how do I transfer the domain to this account?
-
The transfer itself is a bit involved, so first I’m going to recommend adding that older user to this site and confirming the addition.
Then, while logged in as the old account, you can use these steps:
1) Contact us here (while logged into the correct account) and update us with permission to move the domain to this new site.
2) Work through these steps if you’d like to transfer ownership to the new account:

@supernoviaI need to add my WordPress.org account to my wordpress.com page as an admin? Is that what you’re saying?
-
I have added AKAXTRC as an admin on my WordPress.org account. What are steps now for moving the WordPress.ORG domain over to .COM?
-
OK, I need you to log in as the domain owner (as that user anyway) and then update this thread. We need permission from the owner to update the domain settings.
-
Also, here are the import instructions, but the domain ownership issue is separate.
-
WordPress.com wont allow me to log into this forum with my wordpress.org username and password. I can’t update this thread if I can’t do that.
-
Ah, sorry I wasn’t clear.
The domain akingalso.com was purchased through a different WordPress.com account. We need you to log into WordPress.com as that user and authorize the changes. I’ll send an email to the account owner to help you remember.

-
Check all accounts for our helpdesk ticket that I just sent.
If that doesn’t work, you can look up transaction details to confirm ownership of the account. Just don’t post the transaction ID here. If you have it, let us know and we’ll reach out to you via email.

Whew, looks like this is all sorted now with the domain in the right account, pointing to the right site. Have an amazing weekend, all!
