WordPress.org Transfer

  Hello,

  I’ve decided to open a new blog w/Wordpress.org, but I was wondering…do I need to create a new WordPress.com account to be able to still comment on WP.com sites? Or can I still follow and comment with a WP.org account? Also, when I try to edit my WP.org Gravatar, it takes me to my WP.com one. Will I also need to delete and create new Gravatar account?

  Hi @theupstairsgirl, you’ve got a WordPress.com account so you’re free to comment with this as you’d like, or just use an email address that isn’t associated with your account here, or use some other social media if the site you’re commenting on supports it. Some sites even allow anonymous comments.

  Also, when I try to edit my WP.org Gravatar, it takes me to my WP.com one.

  The account on your own installation does not exist outside that installation, if that makes sense. Gravatar and WordPress.com are both services by Automattic, and they are the same account.
