Wordress and domain name

  Hi,

  I have a website built using Wix but want to move over to WordPress and Elemental. I have a domain name and want to leave the wix site up and running while I build the word press site.

  So, not sure what domain name to use for wordpress site in the meantime – I will transfer my domain name over once I am ready to turn the site live.

  Hi there,

  That is not an issue – what you could do is create a site with a free WordPress.com blog address. You are assigned a .wordpress.com or a .home.blog subdomain whenever you create a site with WordPress.com, so you can just use that as the domain as you build the site the way you want. The site starts off private until you are ready to launch it.

  

  

  Once you are done developing the site, you can make the decision to transfer the domain you have over from Wix:

  Or even creating a new one:
