words splitting at end of line

  Hi,

  I pasted text in from a text editor and when I published it words are splitting randomly at the end of lines. Any ideas of how to fix this problem? Thanks.

  I’m sorry but we can’t even see the blog as it’s set to private. All I can suggest is that you examine the code in the HTML editor and find what’s causing the problem.

  Go to Settings > Writing and select “ ___ WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML automatically” and then scroll down and click “Save Changes.”

  Thanks for the comment. I tried your suggestion without success;. I’ve changed my settings so it should be visible to you. I should have done that the first time but didn’t think of it – sorry. If you have other ideas that would be great.

  Are you using a plain text editor or a word processor? Word processors (like Microsoft Word or WordPad) add proprietary formatting that only the program can understand, which often results in strange things when you copy text, like random line breaks.

  Is the editor by chance set for “RTF” (rich text format)? or is it set for full, plain text?
