Wordtube…yes or no?
-
It seems I no longer have wordTube option in my account. I’ve spent hours online reading support here for wordTube and finding videos online, but they are inaccurate.
I want to put a wordTube video on one of my website pages but I can’t find accurate instructions. In some cases the info is incomplete.
I want to add to my new site I am designing now that looks like what’s on my old site at http://www.bedazzledentertainment.com/demo-videos.cfm . Can you help lead me in the right direction?

WordTube is actually a plugin for the self-hosted version of WordPress, not a feature of WordPress.com.
At WordPress.com, you can embed videos from the sources listed at http://en.support.wordpress.com/videos/

That page is for something called “videopress”. I’m talking about “wordtube”. Different plugin that was part of the wordpress package. Videopress requires payment, which I am not a fan on since this service seems to have limited support (no phone numbers) and so far I’ve read limited instructions (incomplete instructions on how to do stuff). I don’t want to pay for something and spend a month emailing back and forth because the instructions were not complete. As well I would like to make sure it’s compatible with my server before puchasing.
Where can I find wordTube?

WordTube is a plugin for self-installed WordPress.org blog, which are quite different from WordPress.com blogs.
Plugins are not allowed on WordPress.com for security reasons.
VideoPress is just one of the video services supported here. You can embed videos from all of the providers listed in the “Related Links” section at http://en.support.wordpress.com/videos/

As an example of lacking instructions…in one video about installing wordtube it talks about going to “plugins” tab in my dashboard. There is no “plugins” option in my dashboard.
The page you gave me states to go to a related link on the right. I did and found a link for youtube. The first set of the instructions given seems to be for posting a video onto your blog, along with all the text blogs. That’s not I’m looking for. I need a demo video page with a list of videos to choose from.
Another set of instructions on that page is the same video from another with talking about “plugins”.

Well, you could create a page with a bunch of YouTube embeds on it.
WordTube is a plugin, and the instructions that they offer are for self-hosted WordPress.org blogs.
We don’t allow plugins on WordPress.com for security reasons. Plugins are a feature only available for self-hosted blogs provided through WordPress.org.
