Work has disappeared, Not getting reproduceable results.

    Thought I built a 2 page website. Where did 2nd page go? I am not building a blog but the system seems to think I am. Do not recall choosing option. I don’t call a ‘blog’ a ‘site’. Noticed the 2nd page was saving as a draft. Published when finished 2nd page but it disappeared. 1st page published. I’m looking at WordPress before I renew current websites hosting/builder packages. Not impressed with reproduceability. Results from specific actions are not consistent, Had a time moving a header before the paragraph. Last paragraph added showing as 1st???? in list. The width of paragraphs does not seem to be controllable, nor is space between header and groups Did manage to put an image and text block side by side. Left sided image seems to be only option. Cannot vary text size & color from one group to another. In current builder being used [Unix based], these can be varied from block to block. Thought ‘group’ may be equivalent of ‘block’. Inserted caption under image with great difficulty. Felt like I was teaching the software how to do what I wished. It’s ok for a simple site but I like using color and varying font size. And I have 4 sites with plans for more. Quicker than FrontPage. Thank you.

    Hi! You’re welcome to build a site without a blog here, no problem. I think the root of the issue you’re running into is pages vs themes and page templates.

    Each page of your site can have blocks with all sorts of color, alignment options, font sizes, and so on. You would do most of that in pages:

    Try adding a new page and picking a pattern, then modifying it by replacing images, changing colors, etc. Or you can delete some parts, add your own, or build the page from scratch.

    WordPress also allows you to edit the theme and template of the entire site. Typically people will use that for things like changing how the menu is placed, choosing how the logo is sized and positioned, deciding on overall site colors, etc. But it seems you’ve edited that when you meant to edit pages:

    I’m not sure how many of those changes are intentional, but as a test, would you consider temporarily changing to a different theme to see if some of the issues you’re seeing are resolved by that?
